    My Update

    Tuesday, April 29, 2008, 11:43 PM [General]

Well its been a while, I also have another blog now so it unfortunately gets updated before this one. My garden is moving along slowly, I have a new worm farm and have the compost bins active again. I'm currently reshaping my vegetable gardens from one large one into four smaller ones to allow for better crop rotation. Hopefully in a couple of weeks the chicken pen will be ready and I can go and get some girls to be part of my little permaculture.

Things have been very busy, work has had its share of difficulties, I have changed jobs but once again there is someone making my life difficult. This time it is my boss....might be time to move on again. I'm looking after Charmaine a couple of days a week now while she goes to uni this has been good but I decided to cut back my hours at work to compensate for the energy it requires. Hopefully using this time to study and work more on my business. Everytime I read my goddess oracle cards though they show that my decisions are good ones and that things will work out in the end.

I'm looking to make my home more sustainable and after the rates (home owners tax paid to the city) have been paid I will be saving some money to retrofit my existing electric hot water to solar, then after that a grid feed solar system although that may be a long way off depending on how many hours I work and if I get a new job hopefully higher paying. But if not it appears I may have some other income coming from other places, I have experienced so far that when in need the great mother comes through.

    Until next time...

    Valentine's Day

    Sunday, February 18, 2007, 02:32 PM [General]

I asked a co-worker if she and her partner had anything special planned for Valentine's Day, she replied "H*LL NO, we don't beleive in buying each other presents just because its Valentine's Day. We can do that any day of the year" Which I guess is partly true. I agree that this event has become rediculously commercial, but since when does showing a loved one you care cost money at all? I know romance can happen any day of the year but in this hectic world how often do we really? Its getting harder just to find the time to have a conversation.  Anything done with loving intent can be a present.

    Welcome

    Thursday, February 8, 2007, 02:39 PM [General]

Hello everyone I would like to welcome you to Treading Lightly.   I currently live in a small city and yearn for the quieter rural life (although still having to work in the city) I'm looking forward to having the space to set my self and future family in a more self sufficient lifestyle. At the moment I'm feeling out of tune and feel myself getting frustrated by things instead of focusing on the many blessings I have in my life everyday.
